NOTES ON PARISH T-SHIRT

The purpose of the print design is to publicize the parish vision which is "to be a communion of communities with intentional disciples, centred on Jesus Christ, commissioned to evangelize and to serve". The cross used is adapted from a Celtic Cross, and the symbolism has its meaning in:

  1. The outer circle is the faithful community of Holy Cross;
  2. The four quadrants represent where we anchor our vision – Jesus at the Head, moulding us as Disciples in our service & work of evangelisation.
  3. The Trinity knot at the 4 arms of the cross represent the Holy Trinity of Father, Son and Holy Spirit working within our midst with an inner circle that emphasizes the endless love of God’s for us.
  4. The knot works around the centre represent how the spirit continues to work within the community to energise and inspire us towards the realization of our vision.

Mission

To support the families in the Church of Holy Cross, to be communities of life and love, on the journey to fulfil God's kingdom.

Vision:

To be a vibrant community that supports every Catholic family to be the formative setting for all its members of the family; to discover, follow and celebrate God’s plan for their personal vocation and mission.

Members’ Meeting

Once a month to share our lives with one another and to discuss plans.

Mission

Encounter – Build vibrant communities where young people can encounter Christ, be transformed by His love and experience Him through each other as disciples. We are given opportunities to Encounter Christ through our Yearly Retreats, Day of Recollections (DOR) and during Eucharistic Adoration at some sessions.

Engage – Disciples who are ready to engage the commission of Christ: To make disciples of all nations. We engage through fellowship during the year (CNY, Easter, Christmas) and through service to the wider parish with events such as Mother’s Day, Feast Day and Catechist Retreats. We come together as one and to celebrate the gift of joy and the presence of one another through such events.

Empower – Disciples who are empowered by the Holy Spirit and equipped as leaders to minister to the young people and serve the community. We empower a space for service within the youth communities and to empower the communities with a safe and comfortable space to share and pray together so that we can be formed to be disciples of Christ.
